The first time you make the leap to travel through time you realize that you pay more attention to the details then you did back in the time you belonged in. The things that really count. The things that don't. It could be fashion, it could be opinions, it could be the fact that so many people have Hawaiian flower arrangements hanging in the rear view mirror of their vehicles right now for no good reason. You listen more and you don't sleep too much because you want to do so much in so little time.
It's really a shame because I learned to appreciate the present tense much more only after traveling through time. Even if you go back in time to correct something you still have to carry forward and follow through on it in the present timeframe. Think of it. If you were told to go back 10 years in time it would be most likely that you would heavily research the specific state of affairs in that timeframe. You would also listen more to people while you were there. What's stopping you from doing that now? Most just go along for the ride.
