Discomfort Zone

It's that inner voice that is always getting to us. We should be on hiatus but we end up playing like an old tv rerun. But we like repetition and we'll watch the reruns. That's what repetition has us believe and do. Hypnosis isn't defined to me as walking around like a zombie.

My colleague from work has another job as a club DJ and he asked me today, "Is it just me, or does everyone seem depressed lately?" I told him I couldn't explain in a sentence about why I think it's not just him thinking that way and nevermind the lack of daylight we've been getting up here. It's not just the clubs he says. It's everywhere. On the streets. In the malls. Everywhere. Population rising and something has to give, ole sport. More time on our hands because our hands carry more time saving devices. Yet with all this technology and all the frequencies flying around and all of our passwords and cards and numbers - we just don't have much time to do what we need to do from time to time. I'm sure we all have different ideas of what time that is and what to do with it. Probably not typing this. Or reading it for that matter.

The newspaper reporter wakes up everyday and knows it's going to be something different. At a certain point though, the reporter will wonder if it's all the same. They will question their sanity. They will question their profession. They will still manage to get the story in by the deadline. They can't stop the urge.

It's so funny to see what drives a person. It really is. You can look at them and see what they are all about in one second. And it's so funny that it's not funny at all. It's who we are. Every single one of us. So funny. But then it gets complicated one day and there is no turning back. Denial is the stage that takes place right after you hear the bad news. How many of us have been in denial and for how long? Walking like zombies everywhere and not even knowing it because we don't have time to figure it out in between the distractions.
