We are being pampered into accepting mediocrity. We are settling for things that we shouldn't settle for. Most people have given up fighting for any cause because it's just too time consuming, and let's face it, nobody cares about your cause.

I've mentioned it before here. As I'm driving or walking, I have noticed that the streetlights above me keep turning off. This has happened quite frequently over the past 10 years to me. Don't worry, no light bulbs went off in my head, and I'm not screaming conspiracy. I suppose I am just a little upset at the fact that the world we live in is being handed down to our generation in worse shape than was given to the generation before us - and all the generations of human life before us for that matter!

Yes, we all worked together during these times of crisis. Yes, such noble people we are. Should we be in chaos though? Is it surprising that certain people will always rise in times of crisis? I give us a little more credit than that. Yet when the power goes on it will remain to be seen if we are all working so happily together again.

I'm upset at the fact that the mayor of New York has said "there is no doubt" that this blackout was caused by Canada without providing evidence. I'm not making this up. I'm upset that many people are being spoonfed information (or lack thereof) and accepting it. I'm upset that no one is taking responsibility for their actions. I'm upset that the people that could have prevented this were driven out of their roles over the past few years out of frustration and in the name of the bottom line.

Where was I?

I was at home by myself. No incoming phone calls. I bought some candles and some chips. I ate some chips by candlelight. It was quite romantic.

Where were you?

What can you do?

If you have to ask you will never know.
