When we are all wearing gas masks and the automobiles are not just pieces of metal scrap on the sides of the roads that aren't used anymore but where some people sleep, I will listen for the birds to sing and remember what it was like to inhale.
The elderly are going through tough times right now and I wonder how many of them are alone in their big homes (if they moved out, they would die earlier, that is all they have...home) and when they fall over and get hurt they do not say anything because who wants to admit they are failing themselves?
The ones that have nobody are maybe sad and happy. There are vultures out there that make their millions off the lonely elderly people.
I almost was hit by an old lady driving a vehicle as I was crossing the street and she squealed on the brakes of her car before taking out my legs. She looked straight ahead and was determined to pretend it did not happen.
I wonder how many of these elderly people look at life that way as it is ending...straight ahead and pretend it did not happen.
