Walking down the sidewalk and the streetlights were keeping along with the pace as the shadows went from large to small. The shadows from streetlight to streetlight crept up and it felt like one of those videos where time lapses were recorded. You know, when the big monuments are being built and those videos display a start-to-finish process and skip the boring parts. All the parts are boring pretty much too. Sun rises. Sun sets. Sun rises. The anthills get bigger.

Now you notice the pace is progressing as the conversation is also picking up.

You discovered the puzzle by looking at the history file on the internet browser when you went to do a search on “Anniversary Presents”. The look on the face was of dismay. That was your face. The look on her face was of denial. You typed ‘A’. Then you typed ‘n’.

If only there was an invention that could protect your head on the inside. There is no helmet for the emotional side of the brain.
